A Leader’s Mindsets
Organizations invest roughly $400 billion in leadership development initiatives every year. However, research in human capital reveals that 75% of these organizations consider their leadership development programs ineffective.
So, what is the disconnect?
Experts suggest that the main reason lies in the tendency of most leadership development efforts to neglect the cognitive aspects of how leaders think, learn, and behave- essentially their mindsets.
Mindsets function as the mental lenses through which leaders absorb and filter information, enabling them to make sense of and navigate the situations they confront daily. In essence, mindsets shape the actions of leaders and provide insight into the reasons behind their decisions.
In this episode of the John Burt Leadership Podcast, my guest is the highly successful, Women’s Leadership Coach, Christina Zini. Christina and I first met years ago while we both were working as management consultants abroad. Our experiences working with senior leaders has shaped our views that a leader’s mindsets impact a leader’s effectiveness and performance.
